Ring Size Guide
Use our easy methods to determine your ring size at home. No guesswork, just the perfect fit.
String or Paper Strip Method
Cut a Strip
Cut a thin strip of paper or use a non-stretchy string about 3 inches long.
Wrap Around Finger
Wrap the strip around the base of your ring finger (left hand for engagement rings). Make sure it's snug but comfortable.
Mark & Measure
Mark where the paper overlaps. Lay it flat and measure the length in millimeters. This is your finger circumference.

Tips for Accurate Measurement
Measure at Room Temperature
Fingers swell in heat and shrink in cold. Measure when your hands are at a normal temperature.
Measure at the End of Day
Fingers are slightly larger in the evening than in the morning.
Consider the Band Width
Wider bands (6mm+) fit tighter. Go up half a size for wider bands.
Account for Knuckles
If your knuckle is larger than your finger base, measure both and choose a size in between.

Contact an ExpertHow to Find Your Perfect Ring Size
Knowing your exact ring size before purchasing is essential for ensuring a comfortable, secure fit. A ring that is too tight can be uncomfortable to wear or difficult to remove, while one that is too loose risks slipping off. Fortunately, there are several reliable methods to determine your size accurately from home, and most can be done with items you already have on hand.
Measurement Methods
- Use a ring sizer tool β VELUNIQ includes a free ring sizer with all orders, making it easy to get an accurate measurement before your ring arrives.
- Measure an existing ring β place a ring that fits well on a ruler and measure the inner diameter in millimeters, then compare to a standard ring size chart.
- Wrap string around your finger β cut a thin strip of paper or string, wrap it snugly around your finger, mark where it overlaps, and measure the length to determine your circumference.
- Visit a local jeweler β any jeweler can measure your finger quickly and accurately using professional ring mandrels and sizers.
Ring Size Tips
- Measure at the end of the day β fingers tend to be at their largest in the evening due to natural swelling from daily activity.
- Measure multiple times β take at least two or three measurements on different days to account for natural variation.
- Consider ring width β wider bands sit more snugly on the finger, so if you're choosing a wide band, you may want to size up by half a size.
- Temperature matters β cold weather causes fingers to shrink while heat causes them to expand, so try to measure in normal conditions.
